ℹ️ Basics of the ZigBee Protocol:

The ZigBee protocol operates on the well-propagating 2.4 GHz frequency, ideal for indoor use.

ZigBee uses a MESH connection, meaning each ZigBee device with full power (L+N) acts as a signal repeater for others. If a distant sensor cannot reach the gateway directly, it can connect through another powered ZigBee device (up to 3 devices in chain). This ensures reliability and stable connections.

ZigBee devices communicate with the hub in 0.2 seconds after state changes, while WiFi requires about 5 seconds. This gives ZigBee a huge advantage for smart automation.

With WiFi, issues begin to appear at around 25 devices ❌

ZigBee gateways and devices allow long-term storage of parameters and device history such as door openings, temperatures, and motion detection logs saved months back.
