ZigBee protocol basics:

• ZigBee protocol operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency that propagates well in the built environment
• ZigBee connectivity is MESH connectivity which means that each ZigBee device with full L+N power supply acts as a signal booster for other devices. If the remote sensor does not have ZigBee gateway connectivity, it only needs to have radio connectivity with another ZigBee device with full L+N power supply that has gateway connectivity (up to 3 devices maximum). The devices work in a lattice chain of connections, which gives reliability and certainty of connection
• Devices using the ZigBee protocol connect to the control panel in 0.2 seconds in the event of a state change, while WiFi takes about 5 seconds to connect to the network after a state change. ZigBee devices have a huge advantage when automating smart rules
