This device amplifies the signal of ZigBee 3.0 TUYA or Smart life gateways and cannot operate on its own.

You can connect the amplifier to any DC 5V USB socket min. 1A e.g. to a charger, USB socket on a TV or laptop.

Please note that a ZigBee 3.0 TUYA gateway, available from us, is required for the device to function properly:

RESET - entering pairing mode

1. unplug and connect the ZigBee amplifier to power three times. The LED indicator on the amplifier will start flashing, indicating that the amplifier is in pairing mode.

2. in the Tuya or Smart Life application, click on the ZigBe gateway

ZigBee protocol basics:

  • The ZigBee protocol operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency, which propagates well in the built environment
  • ZigBee connectivity is MESH connectivity which means that each ZigBee device with full L+N power acts as a signal repeater for the other devices. If a distant sensor does not have ZigBee gateway connectivity, it only needs to have radio connectivity with another ZigBee fully powered L+N device that has gateway connectivity (up to a maximum of 3 devices). The devices work in a mesh connection chain, which gives reliability and connection assurance.
  • Devices using the ZigBee protocol connect to the gateway in 0.2 seconds in the event of a state change, while WiFi takes approximately 5 seconds to connect to the network after a state change. ZigBee devices have a huge advantage when automating smart rules
  • On a WiFi network with 25 devices you will start to experience network problems. You can easily add more than 50 devices to a ZigBee PBX
  • The ZigBee gateway and ZigBee devices allow for much wider and longer storage of parameter data and device history. Door opening history, temperature history, motion detection history stored for months back
  • ZigBee communication consumes very little power, giving long life on battery power.
