ℹ️ ZigBee Protocol Basics:

The ZigBee protocol operates at the well-propagating 2.4 GHz frequency, ideal for indoor environments.

ZigBee uses a MESH network structure — every fully powered ZigBee device (L+N) acts as a signal repeater for others. If a distant sensor cannot connect directly to the gateway, it only needs a radio link to another powered ZigBee device within range. Devices create a reliable, grid-like connection network.

ZigBee devices communicate with the gateway in just 0.2 seconds after state change, while WiFi devices may need up to 5 seconds. This gives ZigBee a huge advantage in smart automation responsiveness.
